We reinvented how homeowners buy HVAC
For decades, homeowners were locked out of professional-grade heating and cooling. A rigid “three-tier” system—manufacturer → wholesaler → contractor—kept prices high and information opaque.
In 2002, our founder Andrew Arthurs and cofounder Karen Tovey changed that when they launched Alpine Home Air—the first online store to sell pro-grade HVAC directly to homeowners. It was a radical idea. The old guard pushed back. We stayed the course. Homeowners got transparent information, fair pricing, and delivery to their doorstep.
By 2014, our mission expanded to climate impact. We created BLUERIDGE, Alpine’s own line of energy-efficient, often all-electric equipment. Designed for reliability, intelligently priced, and consistently top-reviewed, BLUERIDGE put better tech within reach for more families.
